When is the best time to plant shrubs and trees?
Fall is one of the best times to plant, it avoids hot, dry weather that shocks the newly planted material and acclimates the plants before winter.
How often must I water my new plantings?
Water daily or every other day for the first 2 weeks, afterwards water every 3 days, keeping the mulch and soil under the new plant damp to a depth of 2 inches.
What height should I cut my grass?
Cutting the lawn at 3"- 3.5" helps develop a stronger root system, helps to shade and cool the soil and to crowd out weeds.
What lawn and landscape services do you offer?
We offer a full range of services including lawn mowing and maintenance, landscape design and installation, hardscaping (patios, walkways, retaining walls, and outdoor living spaces), plant health care, mulch installation, and commercial property maintenance.
Do I need to be home when you service my property?
No, you do not need to be home. Our professional crews are fully insured and background-checked, and they will take care of your property whether or not you are there. We always leave your yard neat and tidy after each visit.

We design and install custom patios, walkways, retaining walls, fire pits, paver features, stone steps, and other hardscape elements that enhance the beauty and functionality of your outdoor space.
Do you offer landscape maintenance services?
Yes. we provide ongoing maintenance services including lawn mowing, shrub pruning, mulch installation, landscape bed maintenance, and seasonal spring and fall cleanups.
Do you provide commercial snow removal?
Yes, we offer reliable commercial snow removal services for office buildings, retail centers, industrial properties, HOAs, and other commercial facilities throughout Lebanon and eastern Dauphin Counties.
Can I purchase mulch from Barr Lawn & Landscape?
Absolutely. During the spring and summer months, we offer seasonal mulch sales for homeowners, contractors, and wholesale customers at our Lebanon mulch sales location.
